In Loving Tribute To
Chanlijen Destiny At Belaire

"Denny"
This is a Tribute to one of the most wonderful shelties that I had the
pleasure of sharing my life. He was the most sweetest, kindest and ROYAL
dog I have ever owned. When Denver walked into the ring, his elegance and
grace stole the show. When you held him in your arms, you could feel the
love, tenderness that poured from his heart for those that he loved.
There are three sections to this tribute. The first is honoring the years
Denny lived with me and his show career. The second is when he went to
live with my brothers family in Ohio, and the third are some of his puppies
that carry on the beautiful soft expression and that loving personality.
Just a few weeks before his death, I was so happy to see Denny one last time
when my brothers family came to visit and get their newest family member..."
Oberon"aka, "Obie". He is the great grandson of Denny. It is sad to know that
Denny is no longer with us in body, but in all of his prodigy, he will always
live on. We love you Denny, you will always be in our hearts!!

I first knew of Denny's birth the night that my friend Lisa called me and
told me that Marah (Denny's mother) had her puppies. From that day forward
the talk of the sheltie town was of Lisa's "Denver"....he is "beautiful" they
all said. "We went up to Lisa's to see Denver....the prettiest puppy we have
ever seen". I heard this over and over from the local sheltie fancy. It was
winter setting in so I did not get up to see the puppies that were growing so
fast. His brother Cory was equally as beautiful but a faster maturer then Denny
was, so Lisa started showing him first. As the next summer came on, Lisa has a
problem Cory was already showing, now what do I do with Denver??? Should I keep
both brothers and WHY?? In the mean time I was returning a sheltie that I bought
who had a terrible temperament to a woman in Michigan, Lisa's home state and she
was going there for a visit and told me if I wanted she would take the dog back
for me. I went to visit Lisa to give her the dog and got to see Denver and Cory
for the first time. When she brought them out, my eyes could not believe what I
saw.....such gorgeous boys. She said to me, "now I don't know what to do with
Denver.......I can not show both brothers". I am not usually so forward about
these things, but I shouted out, "I will take him" and much to my amazement she
said, "OK". I grabbed him....ran to my van, put him in the crate and left
immediately, before she could change her mind. Denver was MINE!!!!!!

He and I had many adventures together, but he was the lucky one who got to
travel all over the USA to go to shows. I always said, "Denny has been in
places I will never see", how true that was!! He was my gate watch dog and I
often said he should have been called "The Centurion", nothing got past Denver.
Most of all I loved how when he would lay in bed with me at night, he always had
to have some part of him touching me. Usually he would rest his muzzle on my hand,
he would give out that big sigh...and then off to sleep. Those that new Denny well
always remarked on how he took over the foot stool next to my chair, that was HIS
seat, the Kings seat and heaven forbid if even a human would sit there....he would
let them know he was NOT pleased!!!! Denny and I were together for about 8 years
before he found his new home with my brother and their family.

Some of the pictures you will see on the next page are of Denver and his show career.
As I find more of them, I will include them on this page, but this is a good start!!!
