There is a bridge connecting Heaven and Earth. It is called the Rainbow Bridge because of its many colors. Just this side of the Rainbow Bridge, there is a land of meadows, hills and valleys with lush green grass. When a beloved pet dies, the pet goes to this place. There is always food and water, and warm spring weather. Those old and frail animals are young again. Those who have been maimed are made whole again. They play all day with each other. But, there is one thing missing. They are not with their special person who loved them on earth. So, each day they run and play until the day comes when one suddenly stops playing and looks up. The nose twitches, the ears are up, the eyes are staring, and this one suddenly runs from the group. You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. Your face is kissed again and again and again; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the eyes of your trusting pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart. Then you cross the Rainbow Bridge together, never again to be separated. [The term "Rainbow Bridge" comes from Norse mythology. The Rainbow Bridge connected earth to Asgard, the city of the gods. The gods would pass back and forth over this bridge. Also, Valkyries (heroic, warlike maidens) carried the bodies of fallen Norse heroes from earth to Asgard and into Valhalla (the Hall of the Slain) to feast with Odin.] On March 31, 2000 my dearest Laddie left this world with a long legacy behind him. He may never have been a Champion or very special to anyone else, but in his children and grandchildren will live an unending spirit , intelligence and an eagerness to learn with just a touch of orneriness for good measure. It was Laddie who taught his novice master what the sport of Obedience was all about. He is now with his Gammy Rose, in a place over the Rainbow Bridge where they both can be together again.....to play, to say prayers together and to sing a song or two. I love you Laddie, you are my heart, you are my beginning. I will hold your Great Grandson, "Belaire's Prodigy" (Kirby), a little tighter tonight....your spirit still lives on. You will never be forgotten.....Gloria , Ken and the dogs of Belaire Click here for a tribute to Gloria's Mother (Gammy Rose). wanted a Collie, but my parents were not into that big of a dog, so I was happy to have any 4 footed friend. I took Pretzy to obedience class and found that a field Beagle and obedience just did not mix. But it was the beginning of *something* that later turned into a great love of the sport of dog showing. Pretzy was very special and although my next dog was to be a Sheltie, I never lost my love for the Beagle breed and in time had four more Beagles all "Champions"....yes Pretzy you too are a Champion in my eyes and the very first at "BELAIRE MANOR"!!! I was fortunate to have her for her all-too short life. She was full of life - always into something. It was not unusual to see her walking around with a spoon - where she found it, I never knew. She was also known to snitch a pen right out of your hand. Brenna had a very short, but successful show career. As a puppy, she always placed, often trading places with her tri sister, Amy. As an 8 month old, she won her one and only Reserve Winner's Bitch from the 6 - 9 month class. Brenna is very much loved and missed. ![]() On March 30, 2001 , a very special dog has crossed over the rainbow bridge.....Never have I seen a dog fight a harder battle with Cancer. He was loved by so many who saw the sweetness and goodness in his beautiful brown eyes, his loving soft personality and the way he loved the people who loved him back. Denny has a "Prodigy" that lives on and in that carries those attributes that has made him so very special. I am glad, no I am honored that I was given the opportunity to be owned by such a loving dog........my brothers family who fought that battle with him, will miss him worse of all. Always in our hearts: Gloria, Ken Hansen, Bill, Maryan , Amy and Chris Baughman ![]() Sometime in 2001, Tauvy crossed the Rainbow Bridge. I wish I could say when my beloved Tauvy passed away, but only through the grapevine did I hear of her passing. I guess as co-owner I did not have the right to know....however Tauvy will always be loved by me for she was my first Champion Beagle and brought back to me the wonderful memories of my first Beagle, Pretzel. Sleep well my Sweet Lady! ![]() On November 6th, 2004, Kayla was lost to us from a rare form of cancer. Up to that point, she lived each day with great grace and poise, our little four legged human being in a fur coat. She came into Gloria's life when she gained her adult independence! She is the grandaughter of Laddie and the daughter of one of the most favorite shelties of all time, "CH Marwal Steppin' Out ROM" (Andy). She is truly the daughter I have never had and has found a place in my heart like no other. She now joins Laddie and my mother at the Rainbow Bridge and she will never be forgotten. Sleep well my Sweet Lady, until we meet again! Gloria, always having dogs, never had the experience of having a cat, but Rascals couldn't have been a sweeter, more loving, ambassador. Although Phoenix was hearding Rascals, he always was eager to see you and a joy to be with. We will all miss you and we'll see you again!! Love Ken, Gloria, Shadows and the Belaire Gang! ![]() Lainey's death was quite sudden and very shocking at such a young age. There wasn't a sweeter, kinder, good girl that was so willing and eager to show and please. We will miss our "pretty so pretty little girl" so very very much!" ![]() It is hard to believe that only 2 weeks ago, we lost our lovely Lainey, now yesterday we have another loss. Our beautiful boy, "JJ" at 15 1/2 is no longer with us. What a dog he was and what a glorious life he had. I know few dogs that accomplished as much as "JJ" did and I laughed cause I could never remember all his titles. So here it goes, "Am/Can. CH Tar-Ri Kylenes Country Pride Am/Can.
